Simon mentioned the Network Security Principles & Practices book from
Saadat Malik. This book is awesome and it's a good place to start. Lots
of examples.

I've heard from a bunch of R&S guys that the Security lab has a lot
of
overlap with the R&S exam. Since the R&S is still kind of fresh in my
head,
I figure this is a good time. Those guys you know who failed security,
have
they attempted and/or passed the R&S, or were they new to the lab? I
know I
got my butt handed to me my first attempt, just didn't know what to
study.
Are there any good Security practice lab books, like the Solie book for
the
R&S?
