Hi all

I sat this on Monday - phew, it's a pretty tough exam. Not so much for
difficulty, just for time. As you most probably all know, routing and
switching is really the core component here, but you also need to have a
good understanding of security and how it applies to routing and switching.
Make sure you know your core routing protocols really well. Know how R/S
features interact with security protocols.

As a general tip, I read thru the entire paper initially, and probably would
recommend against it - you are OK in this format to read a section ahead
instead, and this will save you precious time. In the old two day format,
reading the entire paper was OK as you had the time - now you don't have the
time.

I think the content of the exam is equal in size to the first day and a half
of the old format, so that should indicate just how much of a race against
time this test has become.

Anyways, as the proctor said to me "if you pass this exam, I'm very
impressed, as you need to know nearly all of your R/S stuff (minus DLSW) +
add-on a whole bunch of security". It is a hard exam, and being an R/S CCIE
really does help. That said, I passed, so I'm over the moon. Thanks to the
group for providing a forum to bounce ideas off...

Regards,
Justin
