After a few bad experiences, I'd have to say that the CCIE would play a
part in any offer extended, but only a small one.
I'd be much more interested in:
1) Does she have the poise and emotional maturity to do the job? There are
many 20 year olds who are exceptionally intelligent, but only a very small
percentage are ready for the corporate workplace.
2) Does her experience over the last two years show increasing
responsibility for, and success with, CCIE level projects?
3) Can she pass a CCIE level technical interview (one that 75% of CCIEs
should be able to easily pass)?
My single biggest hiring mistake in the past has been to play down low
performance on the technical interview because of good recommendations and
a good resume. Twice I've written off poor performance to the certified
candidate being nervous and ended up with a certified employee who was
technically inferior and unable to do the job.
Provided she met the above criteria, then $45/hr (W-2 contract) is
completely reasonable for someone with only 2 years' experience.
Just my $0.02...
