Wichita is a dead horse. Many of the major employers (Pizza Hut, Coleman,
Rent-a-Center, etc.) have moved their HQ's so the only remaining companies
are aircraft and aircraft dependent.
Reasons not moving here:
Below market wages Below average schools (WSU
isn't in the top 1000 schools and doesn't even
High than average taxes make the top ten for
aircraft schools)
Mismanaged city and county resources Absolutely no prossional
entertainment such sports, casinos, opera, art, or music.
I live here and want to move for the above reasons. Sorry I didn't paint a
very rosey picture but wanted to let you know so you don't make the mistake
of moving here. Until Wichita gets better city/county leaders the economy
will continue to shrink and the value of personal assets will decline.
