Did you mean upper 40's?  An MCSE with two years of solid experience should
start at $45k in most markets (I don't know your area).  PC Techs around
here start in the low thirties and are around $40k after 2 years.

I should think an MCSE is good for $40k most anywhere.  Talk to a couple
body shops...contracting is a good way to get into the business.
