Through various projects I've used Cisco 2500's, 3745+NM-32's as well as
Avocent ACS.
IMHO the Avocent is a real pain to initially configure and integrate because
the GUI is very limited, but once you ignore that and configure it directly
through the Unix backend, you have more control. The integration into LDAP
for authentication could still be better though. Once it's installed it is a
very good device.
