The network is kind of screwy. There's 3 sites involved, take a look at
the setup below:
Site A: Cisco 1602----LAN---Netopia---Unknown Router---Internet T1
|
| /---LAN---Netopia---Cisco 1601-------Internet T1
Site B: Cisco 2620
| \---LAN---Netopia---Speedstream------Internet
DSL
|
Site C: Cisco 1602----LAN---Netopia---Cisco 2620-------Internet T1
The 3 Ciscos on the left have point-to-point connections, they all are
connected to the LAN. The Netopias are also connected to the LAN, and
they are the ones providing the internet connection as well as the VPN
connection. If it was my choice I would get rid of the Netopias and
replace them with a Netscreen or Sonicwall firewall, the reason why they
are there is because the CIO wants a DMZ in place.
What I would like is for a constant VPN connection between Site A and B,
but as a backup path.
Eventually I would like to get them to standardize to all Cisco routers,
run EIGRP and have the HQ have 2 connections to the internet, running
HSRP.
Regards,
John

John,
Care to elaborate on what type of VPN you are talking about (IPsec? MPLS
layer 3? MPLS layer 2? L2TP ? etc), and what exactly you are trying to
achieve? (then everybody can give their considered opinions...)
