My organization just went through this so I'm speaking from experience.
We had to upgrade all of our power to 220V before we could run the SUP720. We
didn't try running it on 110V. I was told that Sup720 required the higher
amperage that only 220V power supply can provide.
Since the core switches support our live network we didn't have time to
experiment.
HTH,
Jim

Subject: power requirement: cat6509 w/sup720 [7:91179]
I am waiting on response from TAC, meanwhile I ask the group. I am looking
for power requirements for this config. I just upgraded to sup720, from a
supII. Fan assembly has been upgraded to fan-2, and power supplies have
been replaced with ws-cac-2500w. These are requirements for the sup720.
The power supplies came with 208V input cords. Before we arrange to have
220V dedicated circuits installed, I would like to know if I use 110V, will
output be enough for the config below.
slot 1: ws-x6548-ge-tx
slot 2: ws-6516a-gbic
slot 3: empty
slot 4: empty
slot 5: ws-sup720
slot 6: empty
slot 7: empty
slot 8: empty
slot 9: ws-svc-fwm-1
Thanks
