SO, what the problem is, as I understand it, is that when you telnet from rA 
to rB, then from rB to rC, and then you type Ctrl-Shift-6 X, you get sent 
back to rA, right? But you really want to go back to rB, right?

Try this:

Ctrl-Shift 6 6 X

That is, hit the 6 twice before you type the X. That should work for you...
