You have several solutions (none of them very pleasant).
Browsing
1. There is an Ugly but functional solution:
A. Netbios (NT Browsing) can use UDP ports 137 and 138
B. Stations send local broadcasts which are stopped by the router
C. You can forward these broadcasts with an IP Helper Address command
NOTE: This will send BROADCAST Across your WAN!!!!!!!
Router#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Router(config)#int e0
Router(config-if)#ip helper-address 200.1.1.255
Router(config-if)#
WINS
1. Are you using WINS?
2. Do you have a WINS server at each site, are they replicating?
