Donny,
The Sybex book is a very good resource, I used it and I also used the
courseware from the ICRC (Intro to Cisco Routers Course). The author of
the book is on this studygroup and he appears to be more than willing to
give insight and answer most questions, as are all of the people on the
group.
I am probably not the best resource to use for questions, because I'm
just a little toad in the big pond of Cisco. However I do know of one
great resource besides your Sybex book and that is the archives. One
can gain access to these by following the link:
http://www.groupstudy.com/arch_front/index.html
and searching for 'CCNA exam' or 'CCNA study material'.
I hope this will give you a good place to start. It is recommended
you exhaust the resources in the archives before asking a question about
exams, because probably someone before us already asked the same
question. Good luck in your studies and you new journey into the
magical world of Cisco! :-)

Hello,
I saw your post on the net and I decided to post a msg,
Firstly I am from the Caribbean and I am interested in Cisco
Certification particularly CCNA.
Unfortunately IT materials are expensive and scarce. I have bought the
CCNA text from Sybex and that took a great deal out of my salary, do the
Math conversion and you see where I'm at.
I have waited three months for the delivery through a local IT book
store, but thats another story.
With all the obstacles I am determined to still pass this exam on the
first attempt.
I know I am a stranger to you , but I hope that you can find some time
to give me some information to ace this exam. Advice, Preparation
material, tests etc will be graciously accepted.
If you have any Handy URL's please send them the help will be
uncomparable.
Please help me in my attempt to become CCNA certified,
Respectfully,
Donny..
"Warmest greetings from the Caribbean"

HEY, HEY
WHAT DO YA SAY,
I PASSED THE TEST,
NOW I'M A CCNA
Howdy Ho Y'all,
I've been lurkin around in the shadows for about a month or so and the
info I get from this group is great. I have not contributed much
because sometimes its overwhelming, reminding me of my limited knowledge
and making me feel 'Smart like rock, swift like tree'. If I hang around
long enough gaining all this free knowledge I'm sure I will be able to
give back what y'all give so willingly. I just wanted to thank y'all
for all the selfless input.
As far as certifications go (CNX), whatever is more important to you
letters behind your name or the knowledge, only you can be the judge of
that. Knowledge however gained is still knowledge.
ThanX,
Al, The Network Dude
