I did not try it yet (got no 6500 to test atm) but this might work:
.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifAdminStatus
.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.7
Value is Integer, 1 = up, 2 = down.
