No, they are not static routes. Documentation CD has some poorly worded
sentences there. They "appear" like static routes in terms of the
configuration is "ip mroute" instead of "ip route". However the effect of
them is completely different and has nothing to do with forward-based
routing.
You can always ask the proctor to help out, but I'd feel safer knowing that
you may very well NEED to know the mroute commands to make your multicast
work. (At least as long as MBGP isn't on the blueprint! (grin))
