Easy if you download a copy of cisco's vpn client it also comes with a small
app called set mtu.  (you'll find it in the progam directory for cisco vpn
client)  with the app you can vary your max mtu size which the tcp protocol
will relay to the ftp clients to not exceed with sliding window and all.
the app is portable and independent of the vpn client so you don't need the
client if you just want to set your mtu.
