Removing fans

would removing the fans from kit (ie 25xx, 26xx,28xx,,36xx,3550) in order to
make them quieter have any impact on performance? If the kit was only on for
@8hrs per day? I think not but would be interested to see if other 'home
labbers' are doing the same.
