ayup.....i (believe) transparent mode is the only way.

If I recall correctly, you can't use that vlan mode to create vlan's above
1005. Try using the other mode.

Does any one know how to create a vlan 2000 and above?

I thought transparent mode will work. But my sw see below only gives option
for 1-1005. Not sure whether its IOS issue I am runing 12.1. Any idea?
