Ppp commands shall be used under logical and physical interfaces.

Hi guys,
Usually, when I need to configure ppp multilink, I configure it on both the
dialer and bri interface.
What I don't know is when this command is and isn't needed on both the
physical and logical interfaces.
Can somebody explain this?
