Hi Greg,

So are you saying for the ISDN Bri AND / OR Dialer interface, that we don't
need to use:-

int bri 0
encapsulation ppp <---- NOT needed?????

I have always seen it enabled on Cisco books / CCO, so I have always treated
it as a "default / mandatory" command for ISDN interface.

Thanks so much for your help in advance,

Best Regards,
Hunt Lee

Hi Mat,

When I took the lab I actually worked the other way. Unless it was
explicitly asked for, don't do it. Try to keep your configs as clear and
simple as possible. Unless you are asked for PPP, or something that requires
it such as auth or multilink, stick with HDLC.

Just my 0.2c worth.

Greg.

Hi,
I'm doing an ISDN lab and in the solution they have enabled PPP and
CHAP -
although there wasn't any instructions to do so.

Should I assume that this should always be done unless instructed
otherwise?

Thanks,

Mat.
