On the lines you are using, did you enter the commands 'modem inout' and
'transport input all.'  Remember to match up the settings like in your
hyperterminal (1 stopbit, 8 data bits, etc.).  Also, I enter a 'no exec' on
the lines I am using.  Hope this helps...
