Thanks Michael. The last time I had the chance to test this there was no
option I could find for aal5snap under the pvc config. I will try again
later and see if I can find that option, maybe I missed it.

If you use legacy PVCs, then ubr is selected by default. If you select the
sustained rate only, it'll become abr, if you select peak and sustained it
will become vbr. There isn't much to be set for ubr, unless you're referring
for vbr+ in which case you have to use the new pvc format (pvc <vpi>/<vci>
etc.)
There is an option to set up aal5snap for the second method, but i don't
have a piece of eq to do that. It is under pvc config somewhere tho.

Subject: Configuring ATM PVCs with UBR vs. ABR

When configuring ATM PVCs similar to the example in Caslow's/Pavlichenko's
book,

Interface ATM 3/0
ATM PVC 1 0 99 aal5snap
IP address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
Map-group mygroup
Map-list mygroup
 Ip address 2.2.2.2 atm-vc 1 aal5snap

I cannot find an option for UBR, only ABR. After looking through the
archives I see that the above is an older form of mapping a PVC. However, I
cannot find an aal5snap option when using the newer method,

Interface ATM 3/0
IP address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0
Pvc-mypvc 0/1......

Is there a way of specifying UBR for the first example and if not, is there
an option for aal5snap for the second method?
Also, any helpful links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff
