Don, that's probably the most helpful post I've seen to date on what to use
in a home lab. I'd ask you to expand on one point if you would. I've passed
my CCNA and I'm getting ready to take the CCNP Routing exam. Next comes
Switching, and I can't decide which switch to buy. If I was ready for the
CCIE lab, the 3550 would be the clear choice, as you described; but what
about a switch for the CCNP Switching exam? Is a 5000-series my best move,
or should I pony up the 3K or so and buy the 3550? Thanks for the info.

Ted
