The job Market is horrible right now. There are people who have years of
experience that would far exceed the knowledge of someone who holds a CCNA
that cannot get a job right now. It's not the value of the cerification,
but more that saturation of people vs. the deminishing demand. It will
bounce back, within 12 months or so once quartlerly results for most
companies show profits. One way to show profits is to reduce head count!
Once they prove financial growth, they will be rehiring again, but...it will
be harder...Worldcom just layed off 17,000. Nortel and Cisco layed of
thousands, and so did my former company...Verizon. There is a lot of talent
out there that you will need to compete with!!!!
