Mark where are you pinging from, the router or the CMD line on the workstation? When you ping from either do you have telnet open to any of them? are you using cross over cables or straight through cables? Start at phyical and work up let me know this seems odd to me, have you tried to connect your workstation direct to router e? If so what happens?
