Hey Tapas,

this alias is for CCNA people to help the to prepare for their exam I
understand. So your question is a little bit out of topic, even though we
obviously try to help.

These are quite high end products which I am not very experienced with
either. But I understand that a MSFC is in fact like a router. So I would
say yes to your questions, VLAN and VTP is definitely supported, routing
done by the MSFC and traffic-shaping should be possible - depending what
exactly you mean with that.

If you require further information you will need to get a service contract
with Cisco to get help from the TAC or you will have to do some research
about this yourself on http://www.cisco.com/public/support/tac/home.shtml

Especially of interest will be the IOS release information for the IOS you
currently run to check out the features you get. There is plenty of sample
configs on that webpage as well.

Good luck,

Claudia

Qty-1 WS-C6509-1300AC

Qty-1 WS-x6k-sup1A MSFC +"PfC"

Qty-1 WS-x6348-RJ45

The WS-C6509-1300AC IOS currently = 5.3(2)csx

The WS-X6K-SUP1A-MSFC IOS currently = 12.0(3)xei

I am setting up a lab, I am getting the above things on rental basis.... I
want to know whether this configuration supports

1) Routing

2) VLAN

3) VTP

3) Traffic-shaping

Thanx in advance

Tapas Das.
