Hi,

ip address negotiated
will help you much..

The auxilary port is always equal to
int async n+1 (where n is the highest asynchronous interface number )

use this interface as the default route

Subject: PPP Link over auxilary port [1:1492]

Has anyone seen a good guide on setting up a ppp link using a modem over the
auxilary port? I am interested in seeing how to see how this is implemented
especially for a redundant backup link (slow but better than nothing!)

some questions I have are:

- if ISP assigns IP address dynamically, what IOS command covers that or is
that part of the PPP protocal (or one of its sub protocals it uses ie LCP or
NCP)
- would you just use the gateway address of the ISP in a static route
- I am assuming a dialer list would need to be created and applied to
specify "interesting" traffic to do DDR

Any info would be appreciated.

- W
