Yuppers--probably a misprint in the book. 192 is two bits in the 3rd
octet, i.e 11000000. Leaves you six 0's to use for hosts 2^6=64, 64-2 is 62.

You don't say what book your using, but many publisher's websites have
errata pages--you might want to check there, and see if they show it as an
error.
